Abstract

This study explores conceptual metaphors in sewing terminology, focusing on their semantic and cultural nuances in English and Uzbek. Employing a comparative methodology, the research identifies dominant metaphorical domains such as life, structure, and creativity. Findings reveal significant overlaps and cultural-specific variations, emphasizing the role of metaphor in shaping technical language. The study provides insights for linguists, translators, and lexicographers to understand and effectively utilize sewing terms in both languages.
